by this question. I'm just talking on the basis of pure skill, not ability, and not strength. I mean youve gat ballers out there with real skill like MJ, Pistol
Pete,Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzky, Steve Nash, AI,Magic Johnson,Karl Malone, and yes even Kobe Bryant just toname a few. I am not basing off of what kind person these guys are, half them are stuckup arrogant men. Which ona personal level I dislike O'Neal.
Every sport arrogant stuckup men.

he's good, talent-wise he's nowhere near as good as those you mentioned, but when you make him more than 7 feet and about 335 pounds, he doesn't need to be as skilled in order to dominate. defenders can foul him or whatever, but he's so big and strong that they won't throw him off like they might throw off a smaller player. in terms of pure skill o'neal is not one of the 10 best of all time, but overall he is, because of his size and strength. and as for money, whoever said that he doesn't play for the money obviously didn't hear about him throwing a huge hissy fit and screaming at the lakers gm, because shaq wanted a $100 million two-year extension

Shaq is not built like most b-ball players - he's not merely tall, he's Huge, built like a football player, very heavy and wide - he gets alot of criticism for a lumbering style that is not very graceful, but if you're someone like Yao Ming, colliding with Shaq on the court will prove harmful, because Shaq outweighs Yao by quite a bit.
Shaq is a straight arrow, he's got a great family, is a pretty decent role model by comparison, has a GREAT sense of humour, and loves the game - he'd probably play for alot less money if that's what the market conditions dictated, because he really just loves the game. He's not the center of attention from funky hairdos or tattoos, or bad-boy behavior - some other ball players are in the game as entertainers, Shaq is actually a pretty good sportsman by comparison to his peers. He's no Michael Jordan but then he's no Dennis Rodman either.
Shaq has good Chee. The right place and time either follow him around or he creates it where he goes. Either way, he's gonna be a consummate pro ball player for a long time and longevity in the game commands respect.
That's my take on Shaquille O'Neal.

He is a 7 foot dominant center. He is worth every penny and then some. Miami has a championship to prove it. What has Kobe done without Shaq? He is just an other ball hog like Allen Iverson that will never win another championship.

Always in the right place at the right time. isn't a matter of luck. Maybe for a game or two but not a whole career. He's just one of those rare great naturals in sports.
I don't like basketball but I've seen him play on occasion and the man is definatly not overated.

If I knew who it is I might be able to help. I do know that in the important scheme of things it doesn't matter who he is let alone what is so special about him. Just like there is totally nothing special about George W Bush except that he is of a powerful family, the dumbest of the lot, therefore the most able to be manipulated, and they are all great friends of the Bin Ladins

Shaq is good, in his orlando days when he was skinny he was good, he had great shot and stuff. The thing is sometimes you can't measure how good a player is by their size, because now u think that Shaq is big thats why he is soo good, but thats not hte case, ITs how he DEALS with his size and he playes with the Size, If it were anyone playing with his size and weight and how he gets beat up on the court no one can be as good as him. Shaq is good, his post up, his hook shot and his free throws aren't the best, but what he does he is good. Yeah he is getting a little old, and movemnts are harder with a 350 lb body.

The answer to your question is everything is so special about him. He is a bohemoth, that is true, and one out on the low block noone can stop him because of his size. But combine that with silky moves, cat quickness and an ability to dribble and pass the rock and you have one of the greatest players ever to play. If only he could shoot free throws!!

Well if you have played and you were on a court then you would see the space he takes up and the obstacle he can be in trying to get the ball into the basket for number one
And oh I don't know he scores points for the winning team

consider this, show me any other 7-foot-player, 300 something lbs that could move as quick and not to mention the power with every move. and im not limiting you to the nba, im giving you the world to choose from. that commands respect on the court.i hope that gives you the idea.
i am not a shaq-fan. in fact i hate his "poker face".even the game has already been won he is still not celebrating and still wearing that stupid face.but i know he is a special athlete - no other center can match his package.

to me he is not much of a good player as of people say. He is bigger than most players in the nba and that makes him more powerful than most players and thats about it. Cause he can not shoot from a long distance and i have never seen him shoot a three. He is bad at free throws . To me a good player is someone who can dunk, shoot, and make the free throws. i think Shaq is overrated.
