I can answer it in two ways. The first one is no living being is great enough because we all have some weakness in ourselves. No men, who have gone through this world, are perfect no matter whom so ever they are. The other one is every human being is great because to survive in this tough world is a challenge in itself. We, knowingly or unknowingly, might have done something good sometime in our life.

I thought i'd pick not the great people but the normal people who did great things by changing the world. The first two in courageous acts of self sacrifice to ignite the hearts of millions, the last two are pretty unknown scientists, the 1st saved the lives of millions the second served to make better the lives of billions. The greatest people who live are normal everyday people just like ourselves and when you realize this too you can be great also.

The greatest person to have ever lived is the Prophet Muhammad Peace and Blessings be upon him - not only muslims but any sincere person with an honest mind will accept that he is the greatest. He is the BEST/Successful example in every field of life - starting from preaching Islam, a politician, a father, a husband, a leader, a worrior, a friend, a neighbour, a social worker - you name it and he was the BEST and reached the Excellence... even the historians accepted that he is the best of the bests! He brought the truth infront of us with the light of Qur'an.

I'd say any of those people who said let's stop fighting and try to respect each other and be considerate of each other's needs. So that's Jesus, Mohammed, my parents, Bill Clinton, Mother Teresa, Princess Diana, Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Gabriel ... a LOT of people. Plus quite a number of ordinary everyday people who I know personally.

There are many great scientists and moralists that have contributed to science and humanity. But the greatest person that I had a good knowledge of, and admired the most, was my father.

this is a hard question, and since I can't think of any great people other than Jesus and Buddha, who are divine incarnates, I would say with confidence that it is better to strive to be a decent person since out of all of history I can't think of even a few people who are great. So, who is a decent person that has lived?

My grandmother.

I feel that it is Mahatma Gandhi, who was a down-to-earth simple person and was adored by all sects of people. Never preached about any thing which will harm others. The one who lived the way what he preached.

well that is a loaded question. Who contributed the most to society? Who made the most difference? Jesus would have to be the greatest, but He isn't human. So the greatest human I suppose would be either Mother Teresa or Moses.
