I would like to know why Australia and other countries have to waite 6 months or more to get American TV shows

I mean, is there an actual reason? We just have to sit and wait while Americans watch them and plague magazines with spoilers. Jericho is airing world wide at the same time so there mustn't be some technical reason. Tell me please, I hate having to wait. P.S. When will Alias season 5 be airing in Australia? I hate you channel 7.

Then why aren't American and Australian ratings periods the same? Why does Australia strive to copy American pop culture in everyway it possibly can, but then have some things so wackily different it is just inconvienient to peoples entertainment. Get your act together tv.

I think because of the different rating seasons. While ours is ending, I think theirs is starting. And our networks aren't going to show them over the holidays as they won't rate as well = money.

I just download them online a day after they come out in the US instead of waiting 6 months. That way you're getting them pretty much the same time the US is.

Because if australian tv networks coincide with the american ones they won't get the ratings they want because people will be on holiday throughout the summer.

The ratings seasons aren't the same because they correspond to the actual seasons-people watch more TV during the winter.

Probably not to saturate Austrailian tv with American shows more than it is now in order to keep some interest in Austrailian shows. I've never seen an Austrailian show so they never come up this way at all!
