Exfoliate to clear your skin from dead cells and accumulation of oils and debris. Use some kind of grainy face wash with glycolic acid (e.g. Olay thermal peel face wash). You can use benzyl peroxide to clear up acne. Once a week do a glycolic acid peel (10% glycolic acid) available at drug stores by L'oreal. Avoid picking acnes before they are ripe. But when the pus has moved to the surface, you can pop it with a kleenex. Make sure you wash your hands well before doing that. Occasionally do a sulphur mask to soak up the oils. In between face washes, use Clean and Clear oil absorbing sheets to soak up oil on the face. Avoid cosmetics that contain an oily base. The best is to avoid most makeups if possible. You skin needs air to breathe to keep it healthy.

Don't work at any fast food place.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water (depends on your physical daily activity).
Wash your face with anti-bacterial hand soap (or any clean rinsing facial soap. (Yeah, the acne medicine works, but tends to dry out the area the med is applied to.)
If you're a teenager, too much hormones cause your skin pores to backup (get clogged) from under the skin. It's important that you keep the pores open, so that's why lots of water is recommended. The soap keeps the surface of your skin free of any potential pore clogging material.
If you do get a zit, wash the area with the soap and hold a hot compress to the area to open the pores. Not too hot, just enough to tolerate.

I have been using Neutrogena Deep Clean Oil free face wash and Neutrogena oil fee moisturizer with spf 15. I have very oily skin, and am prone to break outs. This stuff is by far the best that I have ever used for my skin. It keeps it clear. I have been using these products for about 3 years, and will continue to do so. I have tried using other products, even very expensive ones like Murad, and I keep coming back to Neutrogena.

Use a good facial wash and toner like the brands Neutrogna, Biore, Sea Breeze, Noxema, Clinique, etc. Have a good diet. Get enough sleep and lots of water. Oil-free lotions can help too if your face is oily.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser is the best. Its gentle and won't dry out the skin like some acne cleansers.

its not that to have a clear skin, i dont touch it. well, i dont use soap on face but Pond's facewash twice a day. and i use a sandalwood face pack every evening, which makes my face glow.
good diet and water consumption is equally important. minimum exposure to sun and dirty areas serve well.
