Minority doesn't refer only to black people... it goes for any group who can be characterized as not representing the views or characteristics of the majority of people, whether they be physical, political, language, cultural or other differences... Whites are in the minority in a lot of places now...

There were once fewer of the black race in this country than people of the white races, therefore they were in minority. That is rapidly changing in America today

It really depends on where you live at. I'm in an area where there's alot of hispanics, so caucasians and afro-americans are the minority around here. So yeah, it depends on where you're at for it to be deemed a 'minority'.

Because AfrAms are a minority of the total population in the USA.
about 12-13% of the total...where 'whites' are about 68% of the US population.

In the US whites are the majority and every other race is a minority. In communites and cities inside the US the majorities and minorites change and vary.

Because back in the day the white folks were the majority and there were more of them than us. Now the hispanics are taking over.

It's relative to race but I don't think it's racist to say that.
"Minority" can apply to just about everything in different places at different times - it's all relative.
Women, Asians, homosexuals, homophobes, extremists, terrorists.... all are minorities somewhere.....
