Fear of what? Fear of being shot by a gun wielding psychopath? A fairly rational fear judging by recent events........

But to answer your question, I have no need for a gun, so I wouldn't personally buy one. (They are not legal where I live anyway)

I'm not a 100% on what your asking, but yeah, if I had no fears I would buy a gun. There are many people out there, like myself, that enjoy the recreational side of firearms. Its a poor assumption to make that all firearms are bought for protection or hunting, I own a .22Lr pistol and rifle which I take down to the silhouette range for fun.

I own firearms not because I actively worry that someone will break into my home or car, but because of a multitude of reasons. Home (Personal) Defense is just one of the reasons. I'm a firearms collector. I enjoy the fine art of shooting. I love the mechanical aspect of how they're constructed. I'm an avid supporter of responsible hunting. And yes, I do look at a few of my weapons a first choice for home defense. Also, and this is how most people probably should look at a firearm, I look at it as a tool. For me, it's a tool of my chosen trade, which is law enforcement. Just as essential as a pair of cuffs or a collapsable baton. I don't look at a firearm as being capable of solving all the problems in the world. But I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I live in an area of the United States where fear is not a concern, but I still own guns. Some are for hunting and others are simply for target practice. I own guns because I can.

Yes. Some of us provide our own meat. Some of us shoot for recreation.

A person that thinks there is nothing to fear is living in a dream world. Ignoring all the attacks on innocent people by criminals.

Those in fear will only buy a gun as a last resort.

I think gun owners just want to exploit their power and be in control always.

yes you r right.. fear (false evidence appearing real) is real...
some say that it is a right, right.. others say that "they" have one so "i" need one..
in my teens i got hammered in a school yard fight,a wise ole man said u can throw a punch and maybe lose a tooth and a sore spot on pride (which humbles like nothing else to get a good whooping) but if u throw a bullet it could take a life (which cant b replaced) which can u sleep with. thus i never had/owned a gun
