I don't know, to me it either "feels" right, or it doesn't. I can't quite put my finger on it, but some things just don't "feel"right even when everything seems perfect on the outside.

I go with my gut.

Leave the person if he or she is fake and can't be loved, even if on the outside he or she is the hottest person. Your expectations may be high but they will melt when you truly love someone, regardless of thier flaws because the person becomes perfect to you. The human race is changing everyday and love is very rare in this world, but when you do find it, see if there are two things there: love that is deep and true and equally importantly, trust. Also know that you have emotionally given a bit to this person, and the next person you meet will only have a partial amount of your love and trust.

If your expectations are to high for the human race that someone should leave you!

I know just what you mean. I always wonder if I'm too idealistic, or if I'm being reasonable? I feel like I'm the only person in the world who has standards, but I'm not sure if I'm setting realistic standards or not. I've recently decided that, if love and marriage isn't everything that I've dreamed it would be, then I don't want any part of it. I want a husband who is kind, compassionate, loves animals, smart, anti-abortion, vegetarian, hates George W. Bush....oh god, there's so much more. This person has been impossible to find, thus far, but I'm still looking. I'm not sure of what your problem with your husband is, but...if you're unhappy, get out of this before there are children involved.

just ask your self if you had to live up to your own expectations, could you do it????? most people set the bar really high on purpose so no one can reach it, then they can always claim to be the better person....

PS...you have some fears don't you? that's why you put up walls to protect your self.....better get things worked out or you'll be setting high expectations for everyone to fail......its not them its you.....i think you need to understand that so you can move forward with you life......who ever let you down before is in the past now and you can't go back so learn to accept and move on......

I need to know what your expectations are before I can be of much use to you. noone is perfect, we all have our faults, but it all depends on how good is your relationship. If there is verbal or physical abuse, you need to move on and find a more respectful person. Does the good outweigh the bad. It is hard to answer your question without more info, good luck.

Only you can answer that question. You need to look at yourself and if you do the same things then your expectations are too high.

If the relationship is stifling you, if there's abuse or mistreatment, leave. But if they're trying their best to make you happy and they just goof sometimes, or if they make mistakes and do their best to correct them when you call them on it, that's worth keeping trying.

In the end, only you can decide whether the energy you're putting into the relationship is worth what you're getting out of it.

Great f#ckin question.
Why can't people admit it when they expect something to which no one can answer? Why can't people admit that they want the efficiency of a computer and not of a human?
