if you can't think of or find anything more interesting than retail then it looks like that's where you're heading. go get some career advice from a cousellor, read a book like "what color is your parachute" and do some real research about what's available. you can do anything you want in this world and there is no reason that you should ever have to flip burgers, do retail, or any other crappy job out there that stifles your imagination and sucks out your soul. good luck!

if you know how to type, and take phone calls politely you can try for a receptionist position. If you are not over 18, you will probably be limited to food service, or try volunteer work for a while in a place such as a hospital or long term care facility to gain some experience.

if you are up on your clerical skills you could get a job as an administrative assistant(secretary). There are lots of good suggestions above. How about taking some college courses to improve some of your skills. or get into a program that you will enjoy.
