Autumn! (Or "fall" for deciduous plants)
It has the warmth of summer but is not too hot.
It can surprise with soft rains or bright sunny days.
It shows transformation and change.
It heralds the trials & joys of winter.
It echopes the current years and faintly promises the year ahead.

They all have their merits. Summer is good because you get to go to the beach, the days are long and the nights are balmy and beautiful. Downsides: Too hot at night to sleep sometimes, always sweating, sunburn, flies and mosquitoes, car overheats, I overheat... Then there's the beautiful relief of Autumn when the weather gets cooler, and the gorgeous colours of the leaves. Winter is nice when you're inside a cosy house on a stormy day, and you're curled up with your partner eating comfort food and reading a good book or watching movies. Downsides: Have to wear too many clothes, always wet, windy, stuck inside all the time, have to run through the rain at night to get to the toilet at my boyfriend's house. Then Spring!! Everyone comes out of hibernation all happy and vibrant, and the weather is perfect, you can wear minimal clothing and be comfortable, all the animals have babies (magpie swooping season though grrr), flowers come out, grass is green, trees grow leaves, vineyards come alive everything is gorgeous. Downsides: None! Spring has to be my favourite, but there are good things about all of them.

Whichever one I'm currently in. Each time the seasons change, my favorite changes. Just when I've decided that summer, with all it's promise of adventure and rich-smelling warm twilights is my favorite, fall comes along with all it's spicy smell and cold bite and colors. And then, when I've fallen for fall, one day I smell snow in the air and I'm reminded of far-off mountain peaks and everything gilded in silver and frost. Of course, winter lasts so long where I live that by the time spring comes around, I'm so astonished to see the blush of green beneath black boughs, and the smell of wet earth and warmth, that spring becomes my favorite again. It's really a dilema. Each season is so astonishingly lovely that I supposed I'll never choose.
