I wish I could say yes, but I honestly don't think so. The Internet has created such anonymity with individuals, so much so that its' hard to tell who's honest and who isn't. Less research is done about a person's character, and let's face it, even if we knew where someone worked, where they lived, if they were married, kids, etc, it would still not clue us in to their integrity and character.
I still think people are fortunate to find people on line, but I question just how friendly they are,, (like do they visit, or come to dinner, do you introduce them to your spouse, and vice versa)?
Sad thing is that in reality and on the Internet, people share what they want someone to know. Even still, if you find a "friend" on line, just how far is that going to make a meaningful connection, I mean most are from other countries, cities, and states. It can become less rewarding, and the friendships are harder to maintain. Though I'm not suggesting they can't and don't occur, I'm merely saying its much harder.
It's all a crap shoot really, but on line makes it more risky! I wish you well.

Hi, yes I believe you can find an honest and good friend on the internet..I know this because I am one of them...Its very hard nowadays to find true friends..especially someone who will be considerate..I have tried and haven't found really anyone who is real..I get discourage but I know oneday God will be bless me with a true friend!

Absolutely! My friend is a living proof of that. We became friends in 1997 and its been so many years now- almost a decade. He was a nobody then and now he is a famous musician but we are still very good friends. And both of us are honest and kind to each other.

why not, it is absoultly possible to find out good frined on internet, i also came here to find someone as a frined cause, those peoples, who dont have time to find a friend elswhere, during their college they studied hard and after that they work harder for their future carrier, these people dont have enough time to make their frined in a real manner, bt u will get a pure frined on internet, i am also go through that ? if u dont mind i will also looking for good frined. if i match ur criteria plz mail me. santosh_22880@yahoo.co.in

yes I have several friends that I met on the net. You just have to be careful and make sure they are for real and not trying to scam you.
