Keeping the attendence - legally, children in the USA are required to remain in school until they are sixteen or have received their high school diploma, whichever comes first. In order to ensure that happens, teachers keep a record of who attends class.

Looking up safety laws - the Occupational Safety & Health Agency (OSHA) regulates conditions in American factories and workplaces. They enforce a series of laws and regulations designed to ensure that workers can do their jobs without risking their lives and health - the "safety laws".

Processing credit cards - when someone pays for their meal in a restaurant with a credit card, the bill is sent to the credit card company. Sending it is called "processing" the card.

Place orders - when at a restaurant, the customers tell the waiter what they want. The waiter then tells the kitchen what has been ordered. Both of these things are referred to as "placing an order".

Keeping attendance - checking to see which students are at school. Most school have rules about being there and not missing time.

Safety laws - the rules that keep people from getting hurt on the job. Like wearing safety glasses or helmets.

Process credit card - they take the credit card and run it through the credit card machine, applying the charge for the meal. A way the restaurant gets paid.

Place orders - tell the waitress what you want to eat.

Keep the attendence : could be 'take attendence'.. who is there? who is not there?

Look up safety laws: the united states has rules that all factories must follow... they can be found in the factory, online, or in books

Process credit cards: run the credit card through a machine to make sure it is a valid (working) card..... cards are then approved or denied

Place orders: what you are having to eat

keep the attendence means to keep it written down daily, who's there and who isn't.
look up safety laws just means to find its location in the book.
process a credit card just means to run it through the machine to see if it is a good card.
place orders is to give your order to that paticular person. place your order with them.
Hope this helps.
