As long as you can sit comfortably in the car with your safety belt on, go ahead and take the drive....

Have your childs grandmother be prepared with a place for you to sit/lay down when you arrive if needed...

Have your husband carry the baby and all baby pariphenelia from the car when you arrive... After sitting for a while you may find that you feel a bit unsteady on your feet and you will want to be unincumbered for the walk into the house... That way if you feel especially dizzy you can just sit down without worrying about dropping the baby or an item... You will likely not experience this but better to err on the side of caution...

Make sure to alot at least an hour preferably 2 for your visit so you have time for a short power nap should you need it.. The babys grandmother will understand...

Take along some saltine crackers and 7-up incase you get a bit car sick... I found I had bouts of car sick for a few weeks after having my epidural and again after general anesthetic....the bouts passed but for a bit I got very nauseus riding in the car.. Saltines and 7-up settled my stomach..

Also take along some tylenol incase you begin feeling a bit tender...

When it's time to go have your husband carry the baby and items back to the car for the same reason as entering...

With a few precautions for the "Just in cases" you should have a wonderful trip... Remember to take along your camera so you can get some pictures with baby and grandma....

Right after my first daughter's 2 week check up we left Minot North Dakota and traveled to Indiana for 5 days and then traveled from there to MA for about 7 days then back to North Dakota. I was a little sore but otherwise fine. As long as you are not having any complications and feel fine about sitting in the car you can go anytime. Congratulations!

I had an unplanned c-sect with my son and I was out and about in about 2 weeks after, but the doctor said not to drive or lift heavy objects for 6 weeks. If you are feeling up to it and you are healing nicely, then I don't see any harm in a visit to grandma. Just make sure you know your limits and if you start feeling yucky, you should go home. Congratulations on your little miracle!!

I had to have an emergency c-section at 29 weeks and I had to travel an hour back and forth to Children's Hospital in Seattle several times and I did fine. Most of the time I ended up sleeping in the little rooms for parents, and those beds are retched, but I managed just fine, and was off pain meds after less than a week.

for my section, having a caesarian section will be a lot less aggravating for both you and the toddler and in the experience that your professional mentions it to you as an selection for any reason, it would nicely be because he thinks its extra secure for the toddler to be presented this kind. there is commonly one crew engaged on you and yet another on standby. it really is a very managed environment and your dignity is preserved in any respect circumstances. there is no screaming, tearing nor any panic. i'm biased; i have had 3, all were somewhat diverse yet i will't thank my surgeons sufficient. restore from significant surgical procedure (it somewhat is technically what it truly is) can take a lengthy time period, yet having spoken with different moms who presented "evidently" i'd say that restore time has similarities. somewhat once you've had to have stitches or different intervention throughout the time of delivery. After my very last toddler, and at the same time as on the ward a pair of days afterwards, the mother opposite me and that i had reason to giggle hysterically at what changed into being suggested behind the drawn curtains of the subsequent mattress! Do placed a supply up your dressing (over the wound) to grant it some help! it ought to damage yet its no longer overwhelming. the employees on the ward (do not take a private room - its no relaxing!) do common meds so that you're in as little soreness as conceivable. you'd be despatched abode after about 5 or 6 days with sufficient medicine to cover a minimum of two weeks. the suitable advice I had changed into to boost my meds somewhat (ie. do not wait till the discomfort kicks in) and take a seat as a lot as you could. Your stitches are frequently bumped off earlier you're discharged, and this makes extremely a distinction as at about 5 days a number of the abdomen discomfort is led to through them "pulling" because the wound heals. in case you flow abode with them, your midwife will call on you fairly immediately (commonly an identical day) and she or he will be able to envision the healing for you and take them out if needed. Please, do not difficulty, you'd be at risk-free palms. each and each of the very suitable. don't be scared, they somewhat understand what they are doing.

Is this a first baby?

I would check with your doctor and see how they feel about you traveling.

Also, how do YOU feel? I didn't much like bumping around in the car till about 6 or 8 weeks later. Will it be too much to travel, care for the baby, and come home? Only you can tell.

My first Cesarean was unplanned. It took ME about 7-10 days before I felt like traveling. I was also much more protective of my first child. When the second son was born (Planned Cesarean) I was out of the hospital in 3 days and shopping on the way home with him. I would first check with the pediatrician, and it also depends on how you feel and how tired you are. Good Luck and enjoy your precious bundle.

You are still not healed inside yet ,if you were in an accident you would bleed to death be for the ambulance got there .
Your doctor should have told you this !
normally around the 6Th to 8Th days you may run a fever and get a slight infection .I waited till the baby was 6 weeks old .
for his 6 weeks check up .
congrats !

i personally didn't feel like going Anywhere _but i also had a staph infection. But all of my other girlfriends w/ c-sections ~5 kept on kicking & right away! all i can say is: don't forget your pillow! (to hold between your belly & the seatbelt) weirdly, this keeps you from feeling every jar

I went shopping only 5 days after my caesarian, and I walked there pushing the pram. I'm sure you'll be fine if you feel up to it.
