I do still love John very much-I always have,even though I had moved on and gotten married.He took my breath away when I saw him face to face again.And I had never felt that way about my husband.We both cried about how different our lives could have been had we worked it out a long time ago.If he and his wife broke up,I'd be there in a second.And no, I don't have a trailer trash life style,or no self respect. I guess you just never lose your first love.So. thank u for all you answers, but I still don't know what to do....

if you guys feel the same way, then y are u lieing to yourselves saying your happy with these other spouses. its obvious that u have thoughts of cheating on ur husband and he on his wife, and to me thats not being faithfull. You need to be honest with all partys involved, depending on if there are other kids in the second marriages maybe getting back with John is the best thing for them, sounds like it is for yourself....good luck

Just remember, it's easy to muse about what "could have been", but it's hard to have to deal with it every day and work through all the problems and differences that arise in a relationship. Had you stayed with "John", you would now be his wife, and he's be crying with another woman about what "could have been". It's much easier to like and miss a person when you're not there every single day to deal with his c*rap. Nothing's wrong with feeling sentimental... I'm very sentimental, in fact... But a healthy dose of realism helps a lot.

If there's something that i believe, it's that it's much better to regret what you did, than what you could have done. We only live once, and our mission in this planet is to be happy, no matter what. If you think that happiness is by his side, then go for it. Talk to your husband and hope for the best, maybe he'll understand. If he doesn't, at least you tried. You know, it's not fair to spend a lifetime with a person pretending you love him but thinking of someone else. It just ain't fair. Not to you, not to him. Do what your heart tells you to do...
