we have been dating for 2 1/2 years i have been friend with him all my life. i think it is time we start thinking about marriage. i want to get engaged. i am 19 and he is 24.

Well congrats on finding the love of your life. Do you two talk about marriage? Talk to your boyfriend and tell him that your ready to take the next step in your relationship. I am twenty two and have been married two years in December. Its okay to be young, married its the best. Maybe he is scared of the big commitment that comes with marriage. Good luck!

Usually when a guy wants to get married, you'll be the first to know. I think guys are naturally scared away when the thought of marriage is brought up. Not because they don't want to, but they like it to be on their terms, no rushing. Basically, wait! You're afterall 19, so it's not like you don't have time to wait!

Why not sit him down and tell him how you feel, then listen to how he feels and then worry about progression.
