Yes I would put a life size in order to make my house sell faster.

Not sure if this would help. Usually, a housing market correction last for years. It is unlikely things will brighten up in a few months, afterall, this bubble took 5 years for form.

It might be better to give some discount so you unload the house quickly and can use the gain of the home to make money elsewhere quickly. At the same time, you will save money by not paying mortgage for the next 5 months.

For example, if mortgage is $2500/mo. and you have $300,000 gain sitting in the house, by selling it now rather than 5 months later will save you $12500. It will also earn you as much as $7000 from interests (Assuming CD are paying 5.5% or higher).

Total financial benefit for selling early would be $20,000. I would give buyer some discount just because of that.

Finally, keeping a house in selling condition is a lot of work. If your realtor does staging, it costs extra to rent furnitures. If you are living in the unit, it takes extra effort to keep it clean. So, sell it fast!

Burrying an upside down statuette of Jesus in our front yard to sell our house? What's the purpose? I don't have the slightest idea of the use?

The tradition of burying an upside a St. Joseph (not Jesus) statute began about thirty years ago. The theory being that you also prayed to St. Joseph, the patron of Fathers, to help you sell the home, it changed into burying a the same statute upside down. Either way some people swear it works but to me it would seem like superstition.

I heard that works excellent. Also if you have any decessed animals in your house it is a good idea to bury them also. The smell scares potential buyers away. I also heard that if you put a for sale sign in the front yard it will help you sell your house. Also don't mention to the potential buyers that you buried creepy statues all over your yard. You're weird.

Your mom is an unusual Lutheran. I never heard of anyone suggesting such a thing except for a very few Catholics. There is nothing wrong of course with asking Saint Joseph or any saint to intercede on your behalf, just as there is nothing wrong with asking your family and friends to intercede on your behalf. But I always advise people to steer clear of such practices as you describe, as they come dangerously close to superstition, at least in outward appearences. .

It's St Joseph, not Jesus.

And yes, it works.

You don't need to buy the whole kit. You can get a statue of St Joseph from the dollar store and find the prayer and instructions online.
