I'm in my late 30's and have noticed in the last few years that my PMS has gotten worse, but not this bad. The last three days I've been nauseous, couldn't eat, was exhausted and had diarrhea. I couldn't will myself out of bed to go to work. Anyone else? Ideas? Please no "get over it" comments. Thanks.

Tell your boss that "You are out with Mother Nature." Or that "Mother Nature is screaming." If you have a female boss, she will understand. If you have a male boss, you may need some one to translate this for him.
I am not trying to be funny. A co-worker of mine used these exact two phrase in a voice mail. We had a male boss....he needed the translation.
She did not get in trouble for being gone.

Get a doctor's slip.

Then check out www.hufa.org - especially the symptoms link. I will bet you find you have more symptoms on that list than you want to have.

I did not know I had inherited low blood sugar from my father. It wasn't until I was 42, and my body - and brain - felt like they were falling apart that I got diagnosed. I probably had been hypoglycemic since birth - but perimenopause (which can begin in the late 30's for some women), makes hypoglycemia worse.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you have questions.

First of all.. thats not normal. Please see your doctor.

Secondly getting on to your actual question.. I like how my boss says it .. "Work is work and your personal life is your personal life. I don't need a reason. Just call as soon as you can and say I'm sorry I can't make it today."

Which is actually true, you don't *have to* give your boss a reason. Just someplaces policy is that if you're off for more then 3 days you require a doctor's note.

But if your boss is a pain in the *** and really demands a reason all you have to say is something like "I'm sorry I can't make it in today for personal reasons." They cannot ask any further then that. No one can actually. Thats the excuse I always used in highschool becuase they cannot ask any further. Lol.

Hope this helped!

Did you ever think of roughly the different childrens on the college? if your infant has a sore throat, enable them to stay homestead and if it gets worse take them to the conventional practitioner! it is quite not that confusing. think of in regards to the youngsters with suppressed immunity which you would be waiting to be making quite ill in case you permit your infant bypass to college with some thing that would desire to wind up being strep or the flu ( not all flues or maybe strolling pneumonia instruct indications of fever). do not purely think of roughly how your infant will do by way of the day. the objective of retaining childrens homestead from college whilst ill is to substantiate they don't unfold germs to others- the instructor can consistently email the artwork once you're that worried approximately your infant working whilst ill.

Menopause. It always gets worse the couple years before. Birth control prevents those horrible premenstal symptoms. Heating pad and some good pain killers for now untill you can get to the doc. If your boss in the least bit understandable he should be ok with it.

This sounds like you had a "bug" during the PMS time. Those symptoms aren't likely to be from pre-menstruation. See your doctor or GYN - you sound like you have a virus. And, when you are well enough to return to work, tell the boss you were down with a stomach virus - it's true.

You need to see a doctor. PMS can be very serious and untolerable in many woman but, it's also treatable with dietary and life style changes as well as medication (hormonal birth control and/or antidepressants). It's not something you need to 'get over' or just accept as part of being a woman.

Does your boss need to know the exact cause of your illness? You could just tell him/her that you had the flu or a bad case of food poisoning since your symptoms are similar and he or she won't know the difference.

I agree that it was probably a stomach virus that coincidentally occurred at the same time as your PMS. Just tell him you had a stomach virus. I'm sure you could get your doctor to write you a note if need be.

Why would your boss ask? In any job, that's kind of confidential, unless your supposed to get a docto's release to come back to work.

Tell him/her you had a bad case of diarrhea, no one ever wants any more info for something like that.

I don't know the answer, but I have been down that road. I always prayed that my period would come on friday night, so I could have saturday and sunday to just do nothing.

Have you ever considered using a natural balancing cream?
