it is a version that is pre-released and may still have problems

In general, a beta version is released to "the public", so people can get a look at what the new product or new version will be. Usually the features are set in beta, and any changes will be to fix bugs that are found during testing. Sometimes there is an "alpha" release, which is generally still in very early development, and the features may not even remain the same.

Anything that says "Beta" is a pre-release to the official version. Beta versions usually still have some minor bugs or problems with them, but it should be nothing to serious.

Also Beta is another way for software vendors to have people try the software for free and receive feedback in exchange. This helps make the final product better.

a beta version is released to the public for feedbacks. its usually available for free downloads. and if u encounter a problem, the company is not answerable to you and you cant claim damages or services. it is mainly preferred by programmers who want to develop softwares. u can use the beta version and give feedbacks to the firm to help that create a perfect end product.
