when i sign in yahoo messenger , if a new mail is in inbox ,a messg appears you have new 1 mail. when i used to click it , staroffice browser appears to open my mail account . i need to change this to IE. why this happens .pls explain & tell soln.

click start, all programs, and select "set program access and defaults" which will be near the top on the left side. Double click on the word custom or click the down arrow on that line to open the menu. Click the circle next to internet explorer and make sure the box next to "enable access to this program" is checked. Click OK and any time you click a link it will open with internet explorer. You can still manually select another browser if you have more than one installed.

It could be staroffice is set as your default email program.

open ie. go to tools, then select options, the select programs. check the box to ask if ie is the default browser. close then reopen ie. a box should aopear to ask you if you want ie to be your default browser. select yes. ps. mozilla firefox is a safer browser.

you may have spyware in your system...go to spybot search and destroy website and download the free version to get rid of any spyware..and also you can in internet options change your home page...you have to go to internet explorer home page and then go to tools then to internet options...on the home page ther you have the option to change the home page to.. the current home page which would be IE..take care
