try peroxide ,the kind in the brown bottle at any store.Odor means bacteria.I would suggest that you lay down on your back, pour a capful of hydrogen peroxide in your navel and it will boil it out and it does not hurt, it will kill any bacteria or germs and that should do it.You might want to do that several times in a week.......also it works good for those that has had their belly button pierced

Your navel traps sweat, clothing particles and dust. This forms some oily 'crud' that may have an odor. Usually no one else smells it. You should only be able to smell it when you sniff your finger or q-tip. If you can smell it while you are standing up then you need to see an MD. Baby oil will enhance the stickiness of the sweat and make the odor worse! Use regular soap and water, and if you want you could use rubbing alcohol on a q-tip to keep the inside of your belly button clean and dry.
Finally keep working on restoring your abdominal muscles and the pooch will go away and return your navel to normal.

The lump beside the bottom pierce is a pus pocket. The infection closed up, but the pus is still there. skin just formed where it was coming out of and blocked it. You need to go to the doctor to have them take a look at it. Either, it will go away over time, or you will need to have a small incision in the lump to let the pus out. Just keep washing it with salt water, and see if anything changes. If nothing changes in the next 2 to 3 days, go to the doctor. Do NOT use peroxide or alcohol. That will harm the inner skin of the piercing, and will keep the infection going longer. It even says on the bottle "Do not use on puncture wounds". Thats what a piercing is.

It's a yeast type infection. This happened to me once. Make sure after you bathe, you use a Qtip to dry it out and then you can use an anti-yeast type or anti-fungal cream and apply that with a Qtip. Be diligent about getting it dry after the shower and apply the creme morning and night. That should take care of it fairly quickly.

I never had this. Be sure when you wash it that you get it dry. Try using a Blow Drier on a medium heat. Maybe dust a little Baby Powder in it too. If, this not help then you may have a small infection. Could try using Hydrogen Peroxide Then put a little Neosporin in there. Then, if this not help, I would ask my Doctor next time I go or you could make a special appointment if you very concerned. Good Luck.

I think it's just sweat getting trapped. I experience a belly button odor too once in a while ever since I got a belly button pierce. It's not infected, it just needs to be dry. Try to keep it clean and dry.

My belly button used to smell to it just eventually went away, however it could have been something serious and a different situation in your case since I must be much younger and have never had kids. You should get that checked by a doctor. I went through Catscans and sum else where they fill ur bladder and xray how its workin to make sure it was not a bladder leakage.

How do you know it has an odor? Who is complaining? It sounds as if you may have an infection, maybe even a yeast infection. Maybe you irritated it with all the cleaning. The only way you can tell is to have a doctor take a sample & send it to the lab for identification of the germ.
