Personally, I wouldn't go in one. I'd be too self-conscious and feel like everyone was looking at me thinking "Ha ha! I know what SHE is doing tonight!"

Honestly, what are they doing in there? Answer: Same as you are so theres nothing to be worried or embarassed about. Also, don't think the person behind the counter is watching you or thinking wierd things about you because they are there to see everyone come in the store everyday. So what, you want a nudie mag, a sex toy, or some lingerie. Its human nature to think about sex and to want to experience sex. Thank god for stores like that which can make our sexual experiences more fun and interesting.

Next time someone looks at you funny or you feel embarassed, just look and smile. I know its less taboo for women to go into these shops nowadays but I look at it this way. All those people probably looking are probably lonely men looking to get their jollies off and you are in there with your girlfriend. They are most likely looking at your girlfriend fascinated about why she is in there and what she is doing so odds are they aren't looking at you. And if they are, then maybe theres something wrong with them.

Just be glad that you have your woman to go home to and they are stuck with finding other ways of release.

Hope this helps

Yeah, I was a little embarrassed to be there the first time I went (18 years old), and I probably giggled a little (or a lot) because I had never seen so much sex stuff in my life, and worse still, I didn't know what a LOT of it even was. But those kinds of feelings vary from person to person. Now, I go in there (I don't go much anymore) and I shop like I'm at the grocery store. The stuff might as well be cereal or broccoli or bread. But some people never get comfortable with going, so don't sweat it. HOWEVER.............if your girlfriend wants to go, you'd better get over it and go with her. Those places are notorious for having unsavory lots who like to hang out and wait for a female (or male) to come in so they can hit on her. Take a look around in there, and I'm confident that 99% of the people in there were men. The looks you got were probably more directed at your girlfriend than you. Maybe.

One of my buddies had a job in a 'Sex Toy' shop. A few times I visited him and I pretended I was OK with it and I acted confident. If your g is browsing sex toys, that is a major plus for your love life! Leaving her alone in the shop is a miss... you need to be responsive if you want your g to stay. Are you fearful?

I had a gf pull me into one of those shops once. Really it was no big deal, I kind of had a good time. It was time to find out what really gets her off, and I found it quite a learning experience. I even helped her chose a new vibrator, new oils, and even discussed sex beyond regular pushing and plugging.
I think the staff were staring at you because you looked embarrassed, like shopping for clothes with your mom or something.

You shouldn't feel weird or guilty, but if going into the store is too much shop online or through a catalog. One such resource is Adam and Eve. They carry toys, videos and other such things. Everything the stores have, but privacy is assured and costs are probably less.

I think the answer will vary on different factors, your age, your upbringing, but most importantly it is none of anyone's business what you and another consenting adult want to do in terms of enhancing your sex life. These people have no business looking at you.after all, aren't THEY there too?

what's perverted about sex? as long as it's consensual, there is nothing to feel bad or perverted or ashamed about. sex is normal and natural, and wanting to have great, exciting sex is normal and natural.

think of it as shopping for accessories for any other part of everyday life: pajamas for sleeping, cookware for eating, nipple clamps for sex. you don't feel weird buying toilet paper, and poo is way grosser than sex. but everyone does it.

i hope you and your gf have fun with whatever she bought!

When I visit those places, I'm there for myself, not them. I actually don't remember anyone ever looking at me funny, but that's probably because I wasn't looking at them. I was too excited to try out my brand new thingamajig. :-)
