Try getting a sound card Audiogy XP or better. The components for it will let you run speaker outs and hook it straight to a CD burner. I'd recommend verifing that your burner has optical ins but this is not mandatory. There will be some quality difference between brands and types of wire used. However I've been able to master doing this process even sending the sound through a Macintosh amp and into a burner. I can recommend very few brands to try without knowing your budget. But here are two from high end to normal:
1- Philips 765 CDR - CD Recorder $500 and up(online used at Amazon.com $350 price checked on 9-28-06)
2- Sony CD Recorder (RC-DW500C) $250.00 range.(check at circuit city)
The first however expensive works great. But my brother preferes the Sony. Please keep in mind I've seen units cheaper and all the way up to $2000 range. So be careful and picky when searching. By the way the recordings are great and if done right can be broke down into tracks. Enjoy

my only guess is to dust off that old tape player/recorder....

or, you could try to buy a program that records music off of the web. When it's a file, like a midi or an mp3, it's no sweat. Somehow, this translates into physical, tangible media that you can record in the computer. Now streaming, it doesn't work like that. But there must be a way to do it, somehow... if you can hear it, then it's coming into your computer so there must be a way you can grab it and record it.

Did you try looking at the source? There could be some useful information in there, that would clue you in on how to take it.

See, people try to put down the tape player in the end, but you know what? CD's and CD players are really overrated. Initially, it couldn't hurt to tape record it.
