Its a sad news when i read this morning's paper saying that Sir Norman passed away few minutes before he can rejoice over his PR in Malaysia.
This is so selfish of the goverment as he was waiting for hin PR since 1989...What are your comments?
May your sould rest in peace Sir Norman.

Sir Norman Wisdom is a 91 year old comedian who was quite famous in the '60s in the UK. I searched around the BBC news sites, but as far as I can tell the old fellow is still alive. He lives on the Isle of White a "Millionaires Island" just off the south coast of England. I'm not so sure that he has been seeking PR in Malaysia though. Are you sure you got your facts straight dear?

Sarah.... I got this news from local Chinese paper as well. Pretty sad when this happen in Malaysia. I don't know why Malaysian govt drags Sir Norman's PR such a long time, while approving those from neighbour country in couple years.

Don't know who is Sir Norman but May his soul rest in peace.

In retrospect and due respect, he should have paid the authority some "coffee money" and get to rejoice over his
PR in Malaysia. Money works wonder in this Malaysia.

Normally, if under normal circumtences, and qualified to apply for PR such as good in financially standing, it it quite IMPOSSIBLE needsto wait for such a long time (if true as what you said; applied since 1989) - 16 years for a PR??

Under the "Malaysia my second house" package, he should get it within a very short time.

Anyway, i doesn't know who is Sir Norman and his background! I just doubtful that, someone 'qualified' but got to wait for 16 years just for a PR - quite not logic...

Maybe, there are reasons somewhere...

You mean Sir Norman Foster- the man who behind 'London Eye" and the airport Stanstead Airport projects from UK?

i read the news too and i know sir norman although not quite well but at least i know who he is.

my mum took 20 years to get her PR status. it's longer than sir norman. just bcause my mom was a Filipino citizen they overlooked it and took so long to process her application. double standard. i think whites get their application processed faster than those who came from poor country (phils, indonesia, myanmar, vietnam etc.)
