If you're concerned about the cramps, ask your doctor, especially if there's history of high risk pregnancies or miscarriages in your family. Otherwise it's pretty normal. Between the uterus stretching and your hips widening to accomodate the baby, you can expect some mild cramping but if it starts to feel like menstral cramps, let your doctor know. It could also be UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). I had similar cramps and that's what it turned out to be.

It could be implantation into the uterine wall?? I remember having cramps that felt similar to menstrual cramps for weeks (usually I'd get a few days of cramps before my period, but the cramps came and didn't leave and no period).

Just beware of a possible ectopic pregnancy - I think a symptom of that is a sharp pain in your abdomen. Maybe something else? If you think something is wrong - get it checked out!!!

Do you have caffeine? Soft drinks or coffee? I had cramps through my whole pregnancy & they were from caffeine. That's what the doctor told me, and I noticed when I didn't have caffeine I didn't have them, and the more I had the worse the cramps were.
But, you definitely need to talk to your doctor about them. As soon as possible just in case it is something serious.

Mild cramps are normal, but if you're really worried, go to your doctor, atleast that will ease your stress.

6 weeks pregnant, congrats! However, I would suggest you contact your doctor immediately with your concerns, especially if this is your first baby. Is it normal? Only a professional would be able to say.

I am 10 weeks today, I had just went to the doctors office earlier, with the same problem.
my doctor told me that that is quite common because it means that your uterus is growing and that the pregnancy hormones will make you feel very sore there.but, dont take my word for it , i would call and ask YOUR doctor.

Very Normal...this means that your uterus is growing, so it contracts. I think that it's the worse feeling and it's really bad if you have a low tolerance for pain. If you think that it hurts now, just wait 'till you start feeling those contractions:)

cramps are from your uterus stretching. You should see a doctor though to rule out etopic pregnancy if the cramps are painful, if you haven't already.
