Yes we all used to watch Steve, he had so much energy and true passion for crocs! However he also had such a love of life and his family! I wouldn't want to take his position,d on't think anybody will ever be able to fill those shoes!! He was loved by so many, for many different reasons. I also don't have a strong passion for crocodiles as he did. I know however our son would jump at the chance to run something like the Australian Zoo. Our son loves all types of animals, but he has a true love of reptiles!! I know, no matter what, Steve Irwin will be missed and treasured for the man he was! He was definitely a risktaker, something else I am not but our oldest son definitely is! Good question, thanks for asking it! : )

NO ONE can ever take his position, but others will try to follow in his shoes, which is okay. Steve's message was to save the animals of the world and to educate people about them.

I believe that the late and Great Steve Irwin would be disappointed with the world if he knew that no one tried to follow in his footsteps -- that is to make sure that the animals are alive and well for generations to come.

The world has lost a great man. I hope that Mrs. Terri Irwin has the heart and strength to continue his life's work and carry on his legacy. We will miss him.

I loved Steve Irwin. He was so ALIVE! I couldn't imagine ever, that he would have such a short life, at the hands of a sting ray no less!

He walked a tight line with the reptiles he handled, but he knew what he was doing. I envied his wife being able to travel with him and doing what he did.

I don't think she or he would have traded what they did for a living for anything in the world! I would do it in a heart beat!

Take Care

Me watched him in the animal plannet channel. I do skin diving and taking underwater photographs, but I was not close that much with the moving animals. Two years before, I was snokerelled in two meters depth Andaman Island waters, nearby (5 meeters distance) I found dugong. Since it is a harmless animal I tried to reach nearer, since I was alone I got ferared, meant ime it was gone away from my reach. Eyes are the important communicators to the wild animals, eye to eye contact should not be immediate, which creates problems. There are large numebr of scientists working as like Irwin, but the boldness is restricted. There is large number of sting ray attack reports in India, but nothing was reported as fatal attack.

I watched him all the time. I own my own reptile rescue and admire greatly what he did. Its not easy to deal with these animals all the time, they can attack, and die from odd causes, so it has to be out of a true love for the animals that steve did this (or anyone else for that matter.)

I absolutely adored Steve Irwin and his lifestyle and family...
It hurts me deeply that he passed away...
I grieve still for his loss and for his family...
I wish I could turn time back and bring him back...
He was great to bring the wildlife up close to us so we could see it and I don't think anyone can fill his shoes...

I did, and although it'd be really cool to own that zoo, i couldn't ever take his position, he was the greatest man this fair country has ever produced... Still some bodies going to have to step up to his level, other wise, his zoo will close down, and his way of teaching all people about conservation will be lost.
