i know how're you feeling since i used to be in the same situation as yours. i aslo have a friend, who's also like a big sis to me, who's 4yrs older than me. when she went to college our communications became lesser and lesser.
now she's already graduated and i'm the one who's in college. now i understand why she had "ignored" me then... it's because life in college is really, really hectic and it's hard to balance everything and squeeze in your social life. life in college is stressful, you know.
just dont be shy to tell he how much she means to you and how much you look up to her... it could help loosen her stress up to know that there's someone out there who think she's womderful.

You will understand when you get in college, it is a whole different world. She is very busy right now. Especially if this is her first year. She has probably made many new friends and is trying to get close to them. Don't worry about not getting any attention. Big sisters actually do this to their little sisters when they first leave home. But know she will come home to visit and she will be full of stories she wants to tell you about. Dont make her feel like she has to keep checking in with you or you will probably loose her as a friend.

I hate to tell you this, but probably she has a whole new set of friends and interests now that she's in college. However, she shouldn't abandon a former friend, especially one who looks up to her. Have you tried to contact her? Why not call or email her and tell you miss her and the good times you used to have. Tell her you know she's busy now with college, but you'd still like to see her occasionally. Maybe she doesn't mean to ignore you, but is trying to get adjusted to her new routine in college. If she fails to respond to your attempts to get together, then give it up. You have a whole life of friendships ahead of you, and sometimes it's time to give up the old and welcome the new. Good luck, dear.

You shouldn't look up to her too much if she's ignoring you besides she's being immature about it if she has a problem with you she's being a coward for not confronting you about it or maybe she found herself some better friends : )

it's because she is in college now and exploring her element. It doesn't mean that she doesn't love you anymore. She's just busy right now.
