Take a few nice hot baths. Relax. They sound like, spasms. Tension or stress knots. You could also use, the "steam" heat/cold therapy with a heating pad and a damp towel. Dampen a bath towel (( NOT DRIPPIN WET )) damp. Wrap the heating pad in the damp towel. Lay on it in those areas for 20 minutes. Do this for a few hours. Nice to do even after the bath. Take a few anti-inflammatories too ( ibuprofen or motrin if you're not allergic ). IF that does not work and you're still having pain, it might not be muscular. You should see a doctor if it continues.

GOOD LUCK !!

Get a tennis ball - if you don't have any, go to the pet department at your local department store and buy one - they're cheaper there than in the sporting goods dept.

Stand next to a wall and place the tennis ball between the painful area and the wall. Lean against the tennis ball with as much pressure as you can stand for as long as you can stand (10 - 15 seconds).

You may notice a difference right away, but I don't feel better until the next morning. This works great!

Also, apply heat. This helps relax the muscles.

If this doesn't work, you should see a massage therapist or chiropractor for help.

Blessed be,

well i have them also but i have fibromyalgia and let me tell you i have knots. muscle relaxers will help. but if you have someone rub the back of your neck and up the sides and also massage oils with a rub can help. or get something like a theragesic rub. try using a heating pad. but if it persists you may need to see a doctor or even a chiropractor. good luck.

drink lots of water and green tea. Use a Thumper brand massager from Relax The Back. Get a portable massage chair.

I honestly don't know, but I was always told NEVER to RUB any knots you get... Like for instance I always had them in my legs and the nurse I worked with told me never to rub them and to just walk them out... so yeah? talk to your doctor when you go for a checkup! :) Or go to www.allexperts.com and I know you'll have to click a few more times but go through the headings to find the right place and then email them (they are supposedly doctors) and ask them that question.
