#1. I am NOT a fan of either school, but I would have preferred to see Michigan State win.
#2. I did not see the incident in question.
#3. I find it hard to believe that an official would call a penalty based on the word of a coach, regardless of what happened or was alleged. So I'm doubting that it happened the way you describe.
#4. If it did happen that way, then yes, Charlie Weiss was wrong and should be disciplined. But even worse than that, if an official decided to call a penalty that he did not see based on the word of a coach, he has no business being an official and should be permanently removed by whatever governing body has the authority to do so.

Are you from Michigan State? I went to school there. It's always frustrating thinking they are going to have a great year, only to be let down sooner or later.
So this obviously was a disappointment. But if some slick coach from a school like Notre Dame actually managed to steal enough from us to win the game in a dishonest manner, well, I'll have to agree with the previous caller, nobody outside East Lansing will care.
As for Mr. 'don't be a sissy', well, some people are extremely talented at being dishonest and having it work to their best advantage. After a certain point those people are called criminals.
I'm not a big sports fan, but even I have come to see that nothing is what it should be. The best schools, and some of the worst, are good because they're doing something dishonest. Notre Dame number 2?????? Obviously they're not, but apparently it's so good for business to have things that way, that everyone is going to tweak the scenario as much as possible to put perennial favorites in the spotlight. They'll be more than happy to let schools like Michigan State retain their perennial 'not quite good enough' stature.
So, I don't think anyone outside of East Lansing gives a rat's ***.

Players do not call plays. Refs do. The football refs are there to judge football plays and not boxing hits. What the ref should have done was written it up to the NCAA on what was said (they do do post critiques in both college and the NFL, the former couch of the Jaguars sent in a lot of complaints about the refs and was constantly proven wrong) and let the NCAA investigate the issue.
I think Wies should be banned for one game for unsportsman like conduct.

Didn't even know it happened. But I know if he gets away with it, he shouldn't. If I was in charge of the NCAA, I would have him fired and cut Notre Dame's season short. I am not one of those crazy anti-Notre Dame people, but that is terrible. Nop way should a coach say that yo a ref, get away with it, and go unpunished. In a game of momentum swings, that could have been the game!

unfortunately, i really doubt that Weiss will be given any action. in fact, outside of East Lansing, i doubt many people even know that this happened.
he should be punished, but won't be.
