I have a lot of decisions for next semester. I am engaged and my man is in the military. I graduate from college (December) and he wants me to move to where he is stationed. He has been in Iraq for about a year and about to be home in Nov. I have a lot of decisions to make because I do not know if I am ready to be completely done with school. I may want to stay an extra semester here and study abroad or even get a second degree. If I don't continue school I still need to do my internship (and I can't do it in the state that he is in). I talked to him about this yesterday when the idea of moving came up and he broke up with me about it (I think he will rethink that). But regardless, I have a lot of decisions to make with moving and what to do next semester. Any ideas?

My two cents: do NOT forgo your education just to be with this guy. A mature guy who's head is screwed on right will support you in such important goals as your career and education. You really don't want to be with a guy who doesn't understand these things. Figure out what YOU want to do, and proceed, with or without him. A bright young lady like you should have no problem meeting a great guy.

You obviously have a lot going on in your own life right now, and so does he. Being in the military is unpredictable and stressful to say the least. This might not be a good time to commit more to this relationship. It sounds like you have some dreams and goals for your future that he isn't supportive of, and that isn't a good sign either. Sometimes loving someone isn't enough. You have to have the same goals and dreams and be able to agree on a path for your future as a couple. If the two of you can't do that, then you should talk to each other about how you feel and where you want your relationship to go from here. Honesty is best.

Do you want to finish what you've started in school? I hope so. I underestand how he feels and how you feel however if he respects and trust you i sure he'll be willing to wait till you finish school then again WE DON'T KNOW HOW REALLY FEELS FOR YOU. He may really just miss you and want to be with you. and after being in iraq sheesh god bless him.
even so i still recommend that you take care of school cause you will always have it to fall back on when yall do get married and you can take your education with you everytwhere. what will you take if you don't finish?
Good luck

You said that you still need to do your internship and that you can't do it in the state he's in. So you either stay where you are and do the internship and finish your schooling, and grad ed if you want, or you don't do the internship and move to where he is.
My advice to you is to stay the course with your schooling. Don't move and uproot yourself. If it was meant to be with you and him, you'll work it out.

I think you should finish school, you have gotten this far, don't stop going. Maybe you two can work on seeing each other during school breaks, understand this will also be hard. This may sound selfish to others, but you really need to think about yourself and your goals you have set for yourself for your future. I understand you love your man, but he needs to understand that this may be your only chance!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finish with school first. Your fiance should understand your decision. If not than dump him and find one who will care not just for himself but for you also.

If you have to ask this question, then you are not ready to settle down. You should finish your education first.
