Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it home & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

You may have to get a lawn care company to spray your lawn if it's truly infested..Those little tin ant traps don't work very well and since there's no hard surface for the Ortho Ant-b-gone to adhere to it won't work for long. So either buy some pesticide strictly for ants at a nursery or harware store that you can water your lawn with and do it yourself or hire a professional.

Try the ant traps they sell at Home Depot or Lowes. The ants take the poison back to the nest and it kills the whole colony.

Try Specracide or a similar product. It's the really fine almost powdery stuff. Spread it all over your lawn, kinda heavy but not too much, it could burn the grass. Just keep doing that all summer long, every month or so. Eventually they will die off.
