Well, I don't know if it's the points or not that is the reason. I personally don't give much of a sh*it about the points. What does level 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 mean anyway? That we are Yahoo geeks? Not something worth bragging about, really. Some answers are the best to the asker, some answerers are worthy of more than just a simple "best answer." As far as different ids answering their own questions....I guess some do that....I have a few ids....but I've never answered my own question. F*uck yahoo and their points.....like I said....what do they really mean?

i'm sometimes guilty of that i guess. some times i'll look for a decent answer by someone with little points too, but i do read every answer all the time and if there's one answer that's way better i select it as the best answer. but if some answers are close then yeah i'll probably pick someone i consider a friend.

I've noticed this also; some people have two different accounts and use them to cheat. This is called 'gaming for points' and is a violation of Yahoo Answers community guidelines.

I am new to Y!A so as of yet I have not noticed it. I will keep my eyes open though. I am one who will pick the answer that is actually the best answer!

Never noticed a trend other than having seen this question on here before.
If there's no obvious best answer I'll give it to either person with the lowest points or if someone who answered recently gave me best answer.
It's my question, I get to pick whomever I want!

sometimes when I get alot of great answers, I will look to see who needs a point boost.
I wish I could pick 3 answers at different level of points cause sometimes I get really great answers from alot of people but it depends
BUT KEEP IN MIND not everyone thinks alike so you might not think its a best answer but someone else might

It is a possibility but fortunately, even if I don't get picked, I am wise enough to know if my answer is crap or a gold brick.

Some people may have more than one Yahoo account or may have connections with the questioner/answerer. It is sad, isn't it?
