its barely a month in to school and im already very unmotivated with school when on the first day i was motivated to get all A's. its my junior year of highschool and i need to stay on track but i cant get myself to go to bed on time (im writing this at midnigt), cant get myself to do the homework that challenges me, and in the mornings im very depressed and just want to leave school. im definitley not a school person but im very smart so it frustrates me that i dont have the diligence to get good grades and treat myself to what i deserve. any advice from students or people with a boring job will help greatly. thank you very much

That was my exact problem too!! That's why this year I switched to home-schooling because I couldn't deal with school anymore.

Just think you only have 2 years left of school- try your hardest. When you come home, don't do anything else before you've done your homework. Have a set time that you'll go to bed... say 11:00. That seems like a reasonable time. Start getting everything that you need done for the day by 10:00... that way you can be in bed by 11:00.

I'm thinking you are unchallenged. Yiou say you are smart - is school too easy for you? You could be bored off your behind. I know I surely was at your age, and my teenagers most certainly are.

Consider talking to a school counselor about helping get you into more challenging classes.

Otherwise, make a list and don't let yourself do something fun until you complete 4 things on the list. Then take a break for half an hour, and come back at it.

As for sleep - I can't help you there - I get involved in things late and never get to bed when I should.

I have suffered at the hands of verbally abusive boss (a catholic priest) this after two years of college education. I want to graduate and get a job where I will be respected and paid according to my abilities and effort. --That is why no matter how tired I'm after 8 hrs. workday -- I show up to school eager to learn and do well
I mostly spend my weekends studying because as an English as second language speaker, it takes me double the time to understand text books but I am determined to learn

Also since I work so hard for the money that pay my education expenses, I make sure I get knowledge out of attending school

how young and inexperienced you are, Sam16,
to think that only people with "boring" jobs become frustrated, and lose their motivation

at 16, you should be a fireball of activity
but you're not
(by your own description)

you need to exercise more
and eat better

sorry the fix isn't more complicated
