Not all women want men to take charge - trust me on that one.

Well adjusted, mature, women want an equal partnership in a relationship. I notice on this site there are a lot of men who seem to be under the mistaken impression that women want them to take charge. I know there are those women out there, but they aren't the norm in the world I live in.

(There is another popular conception that women want to be the boss of everything and everybody. That one isn't correct either.)

Because men now a days never take charge or make decisions. And as the strong one in my family that always has to make all of the decisions, at work, with the kids and at home, it would be nice, if just every once in a while, I didn't have to do all of the thinking.

I disagree with your statement. Women don't always want men to take charge. In fact, I think it's pretty much equally divided. Married couples should be partners in money matters and other important decisions. I, for one, am the strong one and the decision-maker in my marriage, however, I do ask my husband's opinion on a lot of things. Your assessment is very stereotypical and reflects attitudes that should have gone by way of the Pony Express.

I think between two people of any sex there is a control dynamic, however I think that women have always exerted a certain amount of control, at least since we became 'civilized'. It's just that their levers are more subtle than a man's. A girl can't tell me that she can't get her guy to do something if she pulls the right strings.

I know in my 15 years of marrage I have found if I don't insist on him making the desisions he won't make any desisions. Women don't mind sharing the load but we don't want to feel like we have another child to raise either. The only way to get you guys to tell us anything is to insist that you be strong and make a desision. The truth is that there is truth behind the old saying that behind every successful man is a good woman pushing him to his success. If we did everything for you like you want us to, you would never accomplish anything, society would still be broken up into nomatic hunting tribes and we women would still be hoping we could manage to find a way to make our children survive in the world.

My father and my mother differ from that statement. Whatever my mom said, it was gold to my dad. She has the final word and he knows it. It should be equal...should! Not all feminists are like that, get your facts straight! And you're being hypocritical cause you're generalizing. If I say all men are jerks, i don't mean all men because i know some, SOME are good. BTW, my last statement was for "college guy", not the asker. So much for an educated fellow huh!!

At the END of the day? Well...we're TIRED, of course....and besides (telling a female secret here)-letting you make decisions falls under the category of stroking that very fragile male ego, lol!
Just be sure the decision you make is the right one-the one she would have made herself if she were not too tired to think about it!

I never let another person make decisions for me. I hate to feel dependent. Some people like to play doormat.

I find feminists to be hypocritical. They want to have their cake and eat it too. Equality of opportunity, but not for changing a flat tire, paying for dinner, etc...
