There is currently a storm here in the philippines. Its signal # 3. What should I do? Not used to sotrms like this. Its my first time hearing a wind howling so loud like that, its almost like a small tornado passing by. What would be the right thing for me to do right now? I'm still 14 yrs old but I know i can still do something.

Dude during a severe storm always stay away from any glasss windows and open some windows on the opposite side to which the wind and rain are coming from as this will allow the pressure inside your house to equalize with the external pressures and may help prevent your house from exploding this is the most common cause of house destruction during cyclones after wind damage because people close all the windows and the air inside cant equalise with the lower air pressures outside, after you pass into the eye remain inside and close the windows and open the ones on the opposite side as the wind and rain will start again only from the opposite direction, it also helps to tape your windows with packing tape this helps to prevent flying glass fragments should a window get broken even better if possible is to use storm shutters but remember to open the ones on the opposite side to the weather, keep a radio with full batteries on hand for updates and also store plenty of fresh drinking water and canned food dont forget to keep a can opener handy to open your canned food I know this may sound silly but I have extensive experiense of cyclones and can tell you that I know of people who have forgotten to keep a can opener and then had trouble opening their food, also during the storm stay in the strongest part of the house this is usually the toilet or bathroom cover your self with a matteres as this may help to protect you from falling debri should the roof get torn off and most important try not to panic as this prevents or at least inhibits your process of rational safe thinking, good luck dude and enjoy the experience I allways did.

Stay away from doors and windows. Turn on the radio. Listen for warnings. If you are in a low lying area, like in a valley or on the beach, get onto the second floor of your home. Where are your parents?

Yes, you should stay away from windows and such. But do not listen to the first answerer about opening windows on one side of the house. That is a really old myth that opening windows will equalize pressure. Ask any weatherman, opening windows only endangers you. Please don't listen to him. Debris and winds from opening windows will only damage your home.
