Not sure what exactly that you mean by your question. If you mean acting onstage, you should know that many successful actors/actresses are extremely shy. If they can make it, so can you. You'll have to dedicate yourself to learning the acting craft and go for your dream.

If want to know how to behave when you're with people, despite your shyness--I suggest that you ask them questions about themselves, their interests, etc.. This can break the ice.

People often love to talk about themselves. I find that many people are really starved to be listened to and heard by others; and so they appreciate someone taking an interest in them.

Finally, it may help you to know that people are split into two groups with different traits: one is EXTRAVERT or outgoing people; the other is INTROVERT, "shy" people. You might want to read a little about the differences.

People from these two groups sometimes "read" each other wrong. For instance, an introverted person can view an outgoing extraverted person as being an airhead who talks all the time and never shuts up. On the other hand, the extravert can get impatient with the introvert because they're quiet and look from the outside as if nothing's going on with them.

Extraverts have to be on guard against being overbearing with shy people; and introverts have to look beyond the surface of extraverts to see the deeper person inside.

I was very shy and couldn't even do book reports in school. I finally got over it and wish I had made myself do it earlier. I had no self-esteem and just couldn't seem to get over it even though I had skills and was smart.I wish you luck and best wishes.Being shy will not get you anywhere. Let go and practice at stores or in the mall by asking strangers questions about an item even if you are not really interested in it. Smile and talk and have the fun you deserve!

Some of the best actors I know are terribly shy off stage. Think of a performance as escaping from yourself. Try to embody the character, emotionally and physically, like wearing a mask. If you commit totally to the role, then you will overcome your fears.

Good Luck..

Hey, don't be discouraged. I am HORRIBLY shy and have awful stage fright (I start shaking, breathing heavily, stuff like that). But I have been acting for thirteen years. What I do to calm myself is just put every bit of my nervousness into my energy as my character. I try to channel it so that all my tenseness from freaking out about going onstage becomes positive energy that my character uses to act with.

If you want it bad enough, you will find a way to accomplish your goal. If acting is what you want to do, then; by George, DO IT!! Don't think about it. Even the most well-seasoned actors get stage fright before going on. Life is too short to let things stand in your way of what you're meant to do. Good luck and God bless!

focus on an object far away while you are practicing. next focus on an objects a little closer such as stuffed animals. When you get enough courage, ask your friends and family to sit in and critique you and do things that are distracting until you can focus without getting scared. If that does not work, take a good stiff drink before performing.

When singing - I've been told to think of everyone being naked. That seems a little scary to me. I prefer to just look across the top of the audiences heads. I have become more comfortable over the years, and I imagine you will too. Just keep at it!

well, im pretty shy too in front of people i dont know. what i would say is to "be yourself" of course, that statement is a little overused, so what i would do, is if your getting to know a group of people just listen to people, and say something when someone else states something you can comment to.
for example, if someone said "hey, that tv show las night was so funny!" and you had watched it, you can respond by saying something else.
just realize that no ones going to think bad of you if you say something wrong, if your different, etc.
goodluck!

If you are shy, acting is not what you should pursue, if that is your question. Acting requires focus and, of course, interacting with the cast, on stage.

Get over your shyness....LOL
I mean...there's no reason to be shy...There will always be people who love it and those who hate it...and those who thought it was...meh. Really you just gotta get out there, and give it all you've got...

I get shy in front of my family though...
