a piercing on the bridge of your nose is simply called a "bridge" piercing. I don't know personally, but I've been told it's not a very bad piercing because you're not piercing through any cartilage. I'd most likely compare it to an eyebrow piercing.
If your getting it done, good luck and don't listen to the people saying you're ridiculous. it's your body, your life, and your decision.

It's normally called a Bridge piercing. I have heard of it being called an Earl.
