During the 60 or 70s. As a compromise between the hotels wanting Sunday trading and the churches not wanting Sunday trading the law was passed that only bona fide travellers were to be served alcohol on Sundays. The result was that if I walk down to my local pub they would not serve me but if I got in my car and drive 30 miles then I was served alcohol. In effect If you didn't drive then you didn't drink.

heath care reform: Instead of using it to help people the reforms make it harder on the elderly and disabled to see the doctors they need to remain healthy. This is just insaine! The elderly have already worked hard and deserve a break, yet reform after reform is made forcing them, able or not, back into the workforce to try to get those precious few pills each month that can really mean life or death.
