Ok, no offense to all of the biblical literalists, but honestly, the answer is HELL NO! I do believe that the world will come to an end at some point. we already have theories that have been proven by the laws of physics, such as how the earth's gravitational pull is bringing the moon closer and closer until the two will collide, that say that the world will be destroyed at one point, but these are NOT theories based upon RELIGION they ARE based upon FACT. And anybody that doesn't draw a very fine line between these two things needs to stop being in denial.

Nope - nor do I believe in the hell that the church of the 11th century made up. If read, the bible says that hell is only the affect of god removed from your life, not the world exploding, etc. Besides, where are our seven years of peace? Look at history worldwide - we've not had seven years of peace planet wide since we climbed up out of the mud, and surely not since the bible was written.

We've heard too many times now that Armageddon is upon us- wolf has been cried too many times.

Nor do I believe that the world will end in 2012, just because the Mayan calendaer starts over that year. Note that's starts over, not ends.

gee ... i don't know. does the bible describe the world ending because a born again moron was installed in power and made war on the wrong country after a terrorist attack while the nation he was leading was either too stupid or paralyzed with fear to protest? if so .. yeah ... maybe the world is coming to an end.

No. I don't want to get into a whole religious discussion here but most of the bible (especially that book) was commissioned by the Roman Empire and written by schizophrenic people. If I have offended you, I'm sorry but all I can say is that you shouldn't have asked.

The world has been coming to an end since it began. just like you started dying on the day you were born. But I get your drift it sure feels like we are getting closer to Armageddon.

I dont know if it is, but the only sure way to know is to dare it to end by trying to bring about every detail of the end of days and see if the rest of it happens.

the bible doesn't describe the "end of the world"
crap.
it describes something else.
we were talking about it today in class (no worries. i go to a catholic high school. we have to take religion)
darn.
i'll get back to you on that one.
but remember that it's all in metaphors.
nothing is to be taken literally.

I do feel that the world is in much more trouble than it is comfortable admitting. There is now no solution to the problems of WMD proliferation.

The Bible's got nothing to do with it, except for its spurious suggestion to "be fruitful and multiply." Once the polar ice melts, we are going to be crispy critters. Can you say low albedo? Can you say runaway greenhouse effect? Can you say Venus? Can you say surface temperature of 800 degrees Fahrenheit?

Right now we are in the "beginning of the end".
