Is using my computer line in cords to record audio from my radio and cable box illegal?

Actually I think ur safe because you have to pay for the cable service

Not if you are using it for educational purposes. Also it still isn't illegal because cable companies sell Tivo that you can record stuff onto, as well and also, it's not illegal because by paying for cable you are paying for it's use. As for radio, the advertisements pay for that unless it is a digital station that you subscribe to nowadays.

I believe that falls under the whole home use laws thing. It's basically no different than taping it off of the radio.

The legality or otherwise of what you're doing would depend on the laws of the state/country you're living in.

Not if you don't get caught. Just go for it. Nobody is looking, and if they are they sure don't care about the "small potatoes" you described.
