Let her make some throws for the elderly or homeless or a daycare for the needy! She can simply sew two large pieces together without fiberfill. She could also make some by sewing 2 peices of knit or t-shirt or sweatsuit material together for heavier winter covers. I make denim purses out of jeans. I cut my pieces and sew them together so the seams show. I clip the edges so they fray when I wash them after they are sewn together.I put pockets on the inside and outside and use either the sideseams for a strap or a beltin leather or those canvas belts that match. I put on beads, textured yarns, embroidery, make designs or names from wire and felt.I made about 50 this last winter. Everyone loved them and I had to keep making them. The camoflouge ones with wooden and rock and carved beads and leather strings sold quick.I made backpack ones, single strap bkpk ones, hobo, totes, drawstring bags, children bags, diaper bag/purse for mom with a toddler, boodkbag/purse for a college student, and every color you can imagine. The pink and brown and green camo was really cute!I did a baby one in baby pink with pale pink and white fuzzy yarn and put the toddlers name on it. It was too sweet. Looked like cotton candy!I got most of my jeans at thrift shops and yard sales and family. I cut mine into pieces and only made a couple where you just cut off the legs and put a bottom in and a strap on it. I hope this helps and I hope she has a great time despite the rain.

1) Storybook - If you have a lot of old photos you no longer want (in that big box of photos we all have sitting around), give your daughter a glue stick and notebook, and let her write her own book, using the photos for illustrations. Can also use the photos to write her own newspaper, making up stories to fit the photos.
2) Dream Home - give her a pile of magazines, scissors and glue stick. Let her imagine what she'd like her life to be like in 20 years, using pictures cut from the magazines for illustrations - where she lives, what she does for a living, etc.
Good luck!

A bead bracelet. I am trying to get some money from my mom to buy some beads with the little letters on them to make my 9th grade girlfriend. I'm in 11th grade, and have a girlfriend that is in 9th grade. That portrays my yahoo screen name: my initials first, her initials, and the ages that we were when we met. She was actually 14 at the time, but, anyway, yeah, buy stretchy cord from your local craft store, beads with the little letters on them, and make a bead bracelet.

Get a bunch of popsicle sticks and have her build a little house or napkin holder for the kitchen table.

get some cording and orange yarn. you can make trick or treat baskets. you wrap the yarn around cording and connect to previous row so they stay together. you then can use black felt to glue gun eyes and mouths, act.
