My wife has a mole on her chin and there is a long whisker growing from it. Is it safe to pull the whisker from the mole? I was told no and she was told it was ok but wasn't sure....

I agree that the best thing would be to remove the mole with the aid of a plastic surgeon or a really good dermatologist. My mother had a mole on her forehead. It never bothered her, but it started to itch one day and her dermatologist removed it saying that "better safe than sorry".

Trade it in for a new whisker free model!!!

Just kidding...wow, must be some serious love to ask the mole/whisker question. Here's some info I found on the topic:

FAQs
Q: My mole has hair over it. Can the hairs be removed?
A: There are many options for removing the hairs, including clipping or shaving, tweezing or waxing, electrolysis, and laser hair removal. Moles with hairs can be cosmetically undesirable.

I'd go with the easy to use at home waxing thingie...

I'll go now so you two can pluck around in private!

:D

I would get a new razor and shave the mole and all off and then apply some disinfectant . It worked for me and no problem at all . It didn't hurt hardly at all either and didn't come back.

Maybe she should go have the mole removed by a plastic surgeon and the question will be moot.

If it were me, I would keep the hair cut very short (use a pair of manicure scissors) and consult a doctor. Moles can do very wierd things.

When things go wrong, do you really want to end up singing like Lily Pons?

My Mom gets them too, her Doctor told us it is OK, but if it starts to bleed, use a germ killer soap, to keep it from getting infected.

Yes, you can pull it out. It may grow back though.
