Look up dance supply stores in your area, a lot of times you can find a cheaper shoe because its been discontinued or they are just trying to get rid of them, but there is nothing wrong with them. Also check and see if the group you are working with gets a discount any place. Many shops do this to attract more business.

I've been able to pick up some very nice, inexpensive tap shoes on ebay for my daughter. Try browsing through what they have to offer. You can enter your shoe size to narrow the field...

either way they have really good ones
i know revolution makes a split sole...but i hated them...they were so flimsy taht they gave me no support at all!
