How much can someone do a repair job such as roofing,carpentry etc... with-out a contractor's lic. (Michigan)

If the compensation for said work on property other than owned is $500 or more, you are required to have a contractors license.

In California if the value of the work performed is over $500 you must be a licensed contractor.
