I'm a new Ebayer and I'm interested to know how I am able to view auctions that have closed. If I am wanting to list or buy an item, but am curious what that particular item was sold for in the past on Ebay, how do I look at previously sold items? Reason being so that I have an idea as to what I may be willing to pay if I'm buying or what I may get for that particular item if I'm selling. Also it would be beneficial to know that particular item was ever sold on Ebay. Thanks in advance!

I have been selling and buying on EBay for over 5 years. You can't view an auction that has closed if you were not watching it. You need to do searches for the items that you might be interested in buying or selling a similar item. Add it to your watch list. And see how it sells. This will give you an idea of what you might pay for an item, or what you might expect to be paid for an item. That is what I did when I first started.
Good luck.

You used to be able to look up closed items but now you need an item number and look it up that way. What you can do is create a watch list and monitor the items during the auction and after the auction closes. I think you can watch up to 50 items at a time??? AT least 30 for sure. This should give you a good idea of what your item will sell for. Good Luck.

You cannot search for closed items. You have to go to the advanced search and look up the specific item number.

Ebay gets rid of old auctions to allieviate space on their systems, so unfortunately you won't be able to. They get 100,000 new auctions everyday, so imagine if they kept a history of each of them.

Put it in your KEEP A WATCH section, so you can see it after it closes
