If they are hooking you at big times just play on, but need to know if you are not sure on a call at a crucial point it is all yours baby. If you get a linesmen you will be thinking about his or her calls the whole time and loose focus . If you are thinking about when to cheat and you are not a cheater do not change your game. You have to focus on winning , but when your not sure remember "She has been cheating the whole time " and just take it and let her or him go nuts and you do not even respond just say " Go get a linesman then".

Before the match... talk to the other player about replaying a point if you both disagree on a call. See if you can get them to agree with that?

If that doesn't work. When they start cheating, jump over the net. Tear open your shirt. Start screaming "who wants a piece of me". Then begin attacking them.

You really need to have someone observe the match - preferrably someone who knows the game and does not have a "horse in the race". If this cannot be done, it is just best to hit (practice) with this person because you will never enjoy playing a match under these conditions (while the rule-stretching is going on).

It's hard, and it depends on the relation you have with your opponent. If you enjoy playing with this person apart from his/her cheating, I would start out by making it very clear to him/her that you are an honest player, not by words, but by your actions.

Here's what I mean: During the course of the game, for any point, if you catch any instance in which he was unsure of whether a ball he sent on your court was in or out, say explicitly what the situation you saw was. Even if you were unsure, I would still give the point to him no matter how tough for you it might be on the inside, and I would seem happy externally, acknowledging my opponent that it was a good shot.

Eventually, he will see that you tend to call his balls in if they are really in, and possibly even observe your tendency to keep sportsmanship above by being flexible on calling points for him, and might start to alter his cheating tendency.

Here's the other scenario - if he still keeps on cheating even after a long duration like a set, still keep on doing the same thing. Just accept all calls he makes on his side, and keep on being honest and sacrificing on calls made by you. Eventually, this might mean the match for you (judging you're not in a tournament by your question since you have no referee), but he will soon start to observe his pleasure of winning deteriorate if he's getting there by cheating.

After all, you know you could have won, but you are still practicing your game and keeping the power to yourself. Hopefully, even in this case, he will want to restart enjoying the game, and start practicing sportsmanship himself. Good luck, and keep on enjoying the game! :)

1)have a friend or family member watch the lines or
2)agree on do overs if a questionable call was made or
3)aim the ball so the ball doesnt hit the line, or anything close to out that your opponent may call out.

if you can beat a cheater. then that would mean your skills are improving.

Quit playing tennis with them. Tell them why, and don't explain yourself or apologize.

I don't think I'd have much to do with them otherwise, either. Dishonesty's a pretty fundamental character flaw, unfortunately.

Jsut make them run and hit the ball a good 2 feet with the lines. If you ARE better than him, you can adjust and be more consistent.
