Theres always the Yamaha R6, CBR 600r, not bad bikes at all .The cbr has the least amount of bhp. but handles the best. The R6 is one best lookin of them all. The gixxer looks good too, and might have the performance edge over them all, the zX is there too but the fit and finish is a little sloppy. Ive been riding sport bikes for years and have ridden the all. If you ask me I'd say go with the r6. If you want the gsxr or the zx your best choice is the Suzuki its the best of the two of them.

Definately i'll go for the 636!
the gsxr600 here in Singapore are like taxi/cab as the insurance are much cheaper for the gsxr.
Well, technically i'm not very good with the parts but from conversations with frens, i found out that 636 has higher torque, greater mid-range power but hard to handle at low speed eg 60-70km/hr
i heard that the gsxr600 front fork are lousy but easier to handle than the 636.
maybe u can go down to your nearest mag store and read up abt their reviews, they do make comparsion among same category of bikes.
as a whole, i would choose the 636 as kawa has always has been my fav among the 4 jap brands.
psst, i'm riding a gsxr.. haha!

They're pretty closely matched - which one is the fastest around a track will depend more on who'se riding it than the bike at that level. So, here are some factors to consider - while I can't answer your question, maybe I can give you a push in the right direction.

If Kawasaki and Suzuki have separate dealers in your town, which dealer has the best reputation for repairs and service?

Which one do you feel most comfortable sitting on?

If this is your first bike, though, I'd have to say "none of the above." It's a lot easier to learn to ride on a bike that won't scare you out of your wits if you make a mistake (at best). A 500 cc or smaller sportbike will be a lot more forgiving and predictable.

I have an 04 6R. I don't know anything about the other.

I'm not sure what you want to know exactly....I'm quite happy with it. I did have to make a few mods because I'm 5'3. Both I and my husband who isn't 5'3 found the riding position a bit uncomfortable because the bars seemed lower than usual.

I can't think of anything I don't like about it, except perhaps the single-light low beam which I find stupid.

As to which is better that's a matter of opinion. I'm sure you can google them and find the specs. I suspect that the differences will be minor - one might be faster, but it'll be in 1/4 seconds.

If I were you, I'd first try to find any articles about either bike, preferably one where they're compared by the experts. But keep in mind those reviews tend to be nitpicky. Then sit on both of them and try to see which fits you better ergonomically. And then just choose whichever one looks better to you!

"but hard to handle at low speed eg 60-70km/hr" - I haven't found this to be the case - I've got no problems at lower speeds. If they are harder to handle, I wouldn't know.

The 600 is a better bike and in my opinion it looks better too.
