The answers depend on a number factors that you haven't listed. Most jurisdictions have the time to bother with warrants for misdemeanor charges. It depends on the seriousness of the charges and how well the DMV communicates with local law enforcement.
With respect to the background searches, it really depends on the quality of the search. Court records are public, so it wouldn't take much to discover the pending charges.
This thing could catch up with you any time, so follow the advice that you don't want to hear and deal with the warrants.

They just might come and get you. Spending the night at the county jail is not my idea of a good time.
The DMV will have that information on its computer, I think
Background check? Depends on how thorough. Darn ol' computers, they know everything.
Apartment? Same answer.
Sorry about the bullshit charge. If it is bullshit, why not explain that to a reasonable judge? I won't tell you to go take care of the warrants, since that's something you don't want to hear. But, why have that hanging over your head? Your question obviously occupies some free rent in your head, otherwise you wouldn't be asking about it.

Suck it up, be a real man and take responsibility for your actions. Get a pair of balls and a lawyer, go to the court, and take care of the warrants.
After that, you won't have to worry about all the other bullshit. Believe me, the DMV, your employer and/or landlord do not have far to look to find active bench warrants on your azz. You will not pass real background checks without taking care of business FIRST.

I'm sorry-I have to tell you what you don't want to hear: take care of the warrants-it may not be as bad as you think. My husband had a bench warrant and turned himself in and only had to do 2 days of community service(and talk about a bull charge- it was for a traffic ticket)...
You cannot do anything you just mentioned without getting locked up on the spot-or in the case of the job or apt-get turned down-HARD...And that stuff you said about them finding you-the gov't is not as smart as they make them on TV---the FBI looked for me for a year and a half at different addresses and the whole time I was working on the books and living at the same address for over a year-I eventually turned myself in...

I hate multiple questions.
The problem is that you might wind up arrested, depending on the nature of the warrant out against you, and you should probably not be able to pass a background check either.
And it won't go away until you take care of it.

In most states (and I don't know which one is yours or if this is correct), you will get checked for warrants when you go for a driver's license or ID card.
The background checks may show the warrants but the employer cannot arrest you for them. He may call the cops and turn you in though.
