The most important thing you can do to promote getting rid of dark circles is using eye make-up remover at night and washing your face with a deep pore cleanser at night. I would recommend Dr. Schwab Soft Foam Deep Cleanse. This is a professional product so it is not sold in grocery stores, etc. and is expensive. If you can not afford or will not pay the expensive price for professional products then the best brand to get is Neutrogena. Also, make sure that you are not putting your regular face lotion around your eyes. The skin around the eyes is a little different then the rest of the skin on your face so if you are going to use a moisturizer around your eyes then you should you a special moisturizer for that area.

Next, for the way to cover it up for the time being until you can permanently get rid of them is a concealer by Jane Iredale cosmetics. This is a mineral make-up line so it is 100% pigment (color) so you will not need much. You would either need to get "Circle/Delete" or "Disappear". The website to find a location near you so that you can get color-matched is http://www.janeiredale.com/

Keep in mind also that sun damage will also cause dark circles. If you don't like to put sunscreen on your face because you want it to tan then at least be sure to put some sunscreen around your eyes.

From the Mayo Clinic:

"Dark circles under the eyes are common but usually not permanent. They're often due to temporary changes in the blood vessels under the eyes. Fatigue usually doesn't play a role. Sometimes under-eye darkening is the result of a chronic skin condition such as atopic eczema. This is more noticeable in people with darker skin. Under-eye circles can also run in families.

Over-the-counter products may help diminish under-eye circles. Look for skin creams that contain vitamin C or K, alpha hydroxy acid and kinetin. Treatment for chronic and severe under-eye circles is directed at the underlying cause if known and may include bleaching agents and laser therapy."

i have them too, so I mainly came here to see what people wrote. I do know that they are also part your heredity. It also has to do with hemoglobin in your blood, when you don't get enough oxygen bound to your red blood cells. IF you are asthamtic, have allergies or are a smoker you are more prone to this occurance. Sun damage is part of the problem. If you cough alot, you might be causing minute breaking in the cappiliaries around your eyes or nose and causeing darkening to occur. The skin is most sensative around the eyes, so if you are a woman who wears makeup be very gentle with application and astringents. By if you do try hylexalin (don't know about spelling) the 99$ product, tell us how it works.

Vitamin E helps, get more sleep. Do not use Cucumbers, that's a old wife tale that does not work, it's medical fact. Make sure your not difficient in Iron, take a multi-vitamin that contains a little Iron. Some creams or bases will help even the tone out on your skin as well.

Hey! If your willing to spend the money, I would say try Hylexin. It costs $99 bucks, but I can say that it does work wonders! I know of 3customers at my job that have used it and it has worked for them. If you can find a product with Hydroquinone that's great as well! U can only use it though for 3months, and then go off it. Try the AMAZING concealer, that's one of the best one's out there!! All you need is a little bit of it. Good luck!

I won't tell you to sleep more....provided you are getting proper sleep. Concealer will only help so much...dark circles can be hereditary.....try using vitamin K cream. Do some research on products that specialize in dark circles....I also might suggest plenty of water...and take a good mulitvitamin. And like it or not......get plenty of rest. :)

I hear ya Sista! First of all get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water and sometimes its hereditary and you can't help it, so concealer helps but use one that works well and hydrates so it doesn't look so obvious, overly dried under eyes make them look worse, I like Maybelline EverFresh, it does the job and is light and stays all day. Take Care!

Sufficient rest is the most important thing. 7-9 hours. But research says that if you oversleep, it is bad for your body too. so don't go over 9. Don't be too stressed in whatever you do.
