True Friends are the Best Thing You Can Ever Do For Yourself, they are unique, and few and far between.
A true friend will take your most personal secrets to his/her death. A true friendship takes time to develop. You know when you tell your friend something special that you will never hear it come back to you. It won't matter how far apart the two of you move away from each other, you will always be friends. A True Friend has your back. You will laugh and cry together. You will at some point agree that you can and will disagree. Some friends are closer to you than a family member.
In order to have a friend, you must be a friend.

It depends how easy you find it to trust people. I dont trust many people at all, because you never know when a friend might stab you in the back. Trust takes time, it doesnt happen instantly, they have to earn your trust and you have to earn their trust. Some friends might be quicker to trust but it never comes instantly.
And it also depends what kind of trust you are talking bout. True friends are hard to find, Im only in my teens and I have maybe 4 TRUE friends that I really do trust.

It takes history to make a good friend. Someone who knows the good, bad and ugly about you. A true friend is always there to listen and correct you when you know you screwed up. I can accept correction from a true friend because that person and I have history. We know each others likes and dislikes, strong points and weak points. A true friend will last a lifetime. You might not see or hear from him/her for years, but they always come right on time. Don't be in a rush to have friends! In the meantime, settle for associates. Eventually a good friend will come. I always say, "If you have two friends, you have one too many". History makes a good friend!

because people these days are too overcome with popularity and insecurity it IS hard to find honest good friends. just stick with the people who arent always in the "IN" crowd, and try talking to a variety of people. once you do, you'll be good at being able to identify good friends vs fake people.
