What do you think about it?

(If you don't like it because of the Christian references, find something else to post about!)

It's often referred to as the Perelandra Trilogy, an exceedingly rare attempt at ecclesiastical science fiction.
I found it a little difficult to get into, but then again, so was The Hobbit. Once I got used to C.S. Lewis's story style, it was an interesting and entertaining set. It's the science fiction counterpart to Narnia, which is the ecclesiastical fantasy. It's been a great many years since I read it, but the general matter still lingers, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to any true sci-fi devotee. I hope you enjoyed it, or are still. I think only atheists would have any problem with the Christian undertones. Enjoy! B.

I enjoyed it. While it has been some years--at least five--since I last read the trilogy, I remember them being quite enjoyable. Although not exactly what I was expecting. I enjoyed Perelandra and That Hideous Strength more than the first one Out of the Silent Planet.

I have read the Space Trilogy and very much enjoyed it- especially 'That Hideous Strength'. I think it is unfortunate that they are named so poorly (Space Trilogy??? Sounds like kooky Science Fiction) and I think that this is, in part, why they have been so severely and sadly neglected. Another neglected work worth reading is 'Til we have faces' which was actually Lewis' favorite of his writings.

In many ways C.S. Lewis is the most interesting member of the Inklings Group, and his novels are notable for their great strengths and fabulous weaknesses. His style is heavy going at times, but you are more than rewarded by his ideas which are truly 'fantastic'.

Since when was there a Christian reference untill you brought it up.
You don't have to be a christian to read a book.
But I did'nt but I may just pick that one up sometime, since C.S lewis is a good writer and all.

I have, its beautiful! That Hideous Strength is one of my favorite books. Say, if you liked it you may also like A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller. Miller examines some of Lewis's themes such as the role of scientific solutions to societal problems.
