I went to my doctor earlier this year because I was tired, losing my hair and had other symptoms of hypothyroidism. I have a period every month and it averages 27 days (2-3 more or less some months). I have not tested for ovulation yet, but I have all the signs of ovulation. My doctor seems to think it is polycystic ovarian syndrome, but he didn't run any hormonal tests or ultrasounds. Could I still ovulate and have normal periods and have polycystic ovarian syndrome? Will it be hard to conceive? My fiancee and I are getting married in March and want to start a family as soon as we get married. I am scared that I won't be able to have kids because of what this doctor told me. Any words of advice??

The only way your doctor can be sure that you have PCOS is to do blood work and an utlrasound. Just because you have a period doesn't mean you are ovulating. I never ovulated my whole life (found out while trying to get pregnant that I had PCOS) First I wouldn't worry when you don't know for sure. The more stress you have the more pressure it puts on you and your fiancee. If your doctor won't run test to confirm his diagnosis, then I would find me another doctor. Good luck to you. i have lived with pcos since i was a teenager

the bad news you probably wont be able to have a child on your own

the good news they now have a daily pill that will help you get pregant fairly quickly

some peeps have a period every month and others dont if you are still having a normal period then chances are you wont need the horomonal drugs but they are very affordable even with out insurance so i highly recommend them

good luck on your marriage and good luck becoming a mommy

I gave herd and been told a low carb diet is excellent for P.O.S .I think you shouldn't worry yourself sick when you haven't even tried to become pregnant yet.
Most people take awhile to get pregnant anyway after a year then i would be seriously thinking about talking to a gino.
There was a study i seen on TV about woman that had no health problems but couldn't get pregnant , stress effects your hormones so does worry , prayer helps most of all.

i've got been clinically determined with PCOS for 3 years now whilst i grow to be ttc and wasn't getting my era for months. i prefer to propose going to work out an endocrinologist that specializes in fertility. I went trough 5 cycles of clomid alongside with vaginal ultrasounds and blood artwork, which led to me to ovulate yet did not get me pregnant. After that did not artwork, they tried IUI insemination quite a few situations which did not artwork the two. finally after 2 years we did IVF and it labored on the 1st cycle. stay helpful, whilst i grow to be first clinically determined i thought i grow to be by no skill going to get pregnant, it took around 2 years, yet i'm presently 9 weeks pregnant with a well being toddler.
